Moving To LA

This works Ione Skye's LA Home Domino Magazine Sept 2005

Or How about this?

OK - this is out of my league - but I would LOVE LOVE LOVE this!!!!!

Just when I finished my apartment my husband found a cool job in LA so we are relocating. Some lucky family will be renting our apartment fully furnished and I hopefully will redecorate a house on a shoe string and of course will give you ALL of my resources and even better perhaps you can give me yours.  If anyone knows of anyone looking to rent a fabulous home in the Pacific Palisades let me know.

  1. How lovely ! Do they not have flies and mosquitoes in LA because there is no way I could leave my doors open in NC ! :)

  2. Sorry that you have to leave that gorgeous apartment, but if you have to move, LA is a great location. Oh, and I can't wait to see how you decorate your new digs.

  3. So exciting, Suze! I did a coast to coast move the other direction. San Fran - NYC. But, you'll be where it's a little more sunny and a little bit warmer. If I was heading that direction I would put a 911 in to Ruthie Sommers - West Coast grande dame (albeit a young one) of decor!

This will certainly give you loads of blog material!! :)

  5. I hate moving, BUT I can't wait to see what you do start to finish, top to bottom, etc etc!

I have no idea how to make this happen, but rent one of Jeff Lewis' places! (And then let me come stalk him.)

  7. I totally second the motion to rent one of Jeff Lewis's places.

LA is a mecca for awesome home decor, I can't wait to see what you find and how you decorate your hip SoCal pad.

    Good luck with the move.

  8. Sounds like a fun adventure....we are relocating from DC to Dallas later this year for my husband's firm....LA sounds more fun. Isn't Jenny from LGN looking for a place to rent in NYC? Maybe you could cut her a deal :)

  10. I would imagine your apartment is already rented, and what lucky renters they are! Hope you find something equally gorgeous for you and your family in L.A., sounds very exciting! Doesn't your friend Brooke, from A Bloomsbury Life live there? That will be so great for you both!

  11. Good luck with the move! You and the family will love it here! I've had many clients in the Palisades and it's one of my favorite neighborhoods. Well, besides my neck of the woods, Venice! I have a friend that lives there and she knows everyone so let me know if you need any referrals for real estate agents or anything.
