100% agree- I love finding metallics underneath those ugly covers..like a little hidden surprise. xo
ReplyDeletetoo true -- thanks for the reminder. And I love the double melon paint choices in your earlier post.
ReplyDeleteI like Caddie Woodlawn and Anne of Green Gables paired with Talmage's Jesus the Christ. Whose bookshelf is this?
ReplyDeleteI did this about 6 months ago and wow so liberating! My bookshelf now reminds me of the library; I love it! And they actually smell better: more musky library-ish!
ReplyDeleteIt is funny, I actually had the opposite reaction. For the bookshelf in our living room, I tried that, but it became too dark for my taste. Many of my book jackets are lighter in color (or at least the spines) and the actual book was not. I love the idea in theory, but for me it was just an exercise in how to lose a few hours.
ReplyDeleteHopefully though someday I can put it into practice, because I do love the idea!
I've done this with some of my books but not all since some of the dust covers are prettier than the actual book cover itself. I haven't gone as far as to recover books with kraft paper, etc but I think that could work mixed in as well. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for reminding us! I've done what you've said it the results were great!
