Lawn Minimalism with Creeping Red Fescue

I have been totally inspired by Kelly Behun's home in Elle Decor  to complete pull out the piles of random bushes and make a clean boarder of Creeping Red Fescue - the long swirly grass that is chic beyond and used in LA in stunning ways. Problem is that I was quoted $26,000 to do this — can you imagine? So now I am planting with seed for a couple hundred and it is working. I started with a small patch and now I am going to go for it. My back yard is a mess but will post when it is done.

Good Decorating Choices - Chic Floor Lamp

There is nothing better for  a dweller without a decorator when he or she  knows that they have made a good decorating choice. My living room always looks dark but I just bought 4 Restoration Hardware lamps that look invisible but make a serious impact. I know what you are thinking 4 is excessive and too matchy matchy but it works and adds big drama. Granted, two out of the four showed up broken so I will show you the quad when the others show. SO EXCITED!

Chez Moi House Makeover..The Power Of White Paint

 I finally finished the outside of the house and painted it from pink and green to black and white. My friend Sam told me not to paint the windows black because they were too ugly to highlight and she was right.  It is so much better. Would love to hear what you think.  I still have a long way to go. My mom came this week and helped me clean out the garage, my backyard and every closet and there was a massive pile of trash in the front. I was so lucky because there are all these tear downs going on in my neighborhood and the workers (whom asked to take a look) found the treasure in my trash and cleaned it all up. I was beyond thrilled!

Bougainvillea On A White House.

The problem with painting your house all white is that it needs something to make it interesting. I love the idea of purple or pink  Bougainvillea on a white house. Here is what I am thinking as inspiration for my own.

Covering Ugly Columns with Creeping Fig

Turns out my stone columns just did not take to paint so I have a slight dilemma on my hands. My friend Adam told me they can be saved and made genius by Creeping Fig. Doing it today :)

2 Lighting Picks For The Foyer And The Living Room.

The bad news is that I have to change every ceiling light and bring it up to code - the good news is that is an excellent opportunity to change the fixtures.

So far I am obsessed with this light for the living room found at a restaurant called Roc Star which has the BEST soup dumplings (the soup is inside the dumpling) . It's on Sawtelle.  Now where to find this fixture.

Painting the staircase today. Going for the black banister and white spindles. I painted the beams black in the foyer and it looks amazing. Can't wait to share photos. 

Painting Ugly Bathroom Tile - It Can Be Done.

I am so excited because I thought that  I had to live with my ugly pink bathroom tile until we were ready to really renovate but I had no idea that you could just paint pink tile white. I have 4 old pink and green tiled bathrooms that I can not wait to recover. Has anyone ever done this? I want to paint the floor as well. Thinking of going black for the floor any suggestions?  

I Want This Couch

I have been  desperate for this Restoration Hardware couch since I first laid eyes on it in the store. It is utter perfection. It looks super chic in Kelly Klein apt from AD as well.  My only fear is that if I buy two of them and have them face each other it might make my home look staged. Thoughts?

Foyer Stairway Redo

Love the black and white steps with a pale carpet. Right now mine is yellowish brown wood with green carpeting on the steps. Not for long. Inspired.
