Major Drama

I love a dramatic room simple in black and white but truth be told my apartment looks like a jelly bean bag and I like it that way. I can't remember if it was Jonathan Adler or his partner Simon Dunan who said that unhappy couples usually live in beige apartments. Ever since I read that quote I have been observing and its true. I can't say the same goes for black and white. It's a simple way to get major drama and more importantly it never gets old.

In this dining room, designer Nicole Hollis paired classic white Verner Panton chairs (1960) with Organic Highback chairs in avocado by Charles and Ray Eames and Eero Saarinen (1948). The space was part of "Four by Four," a retail exhibit featuring Vitra furniture, which ran Nov. 2008 through Jan. 2009 at San Francisco store Limn.
